State Executive Board Meeting
Fall 2018 Deborah Bhanojirow, Vice President, represented Alpha Iota at the State Executive Board Meeting in Macon. She said the highlight of the meeting was being amazed by the speaker, Aalam. Debbie said, “Aalam is from Afghanistan and her parents live in war-torn Kabul. There is constant bombing and death is just a step away. Each day is a gift from God. Schools are destroyed, and education of girls is not given high priority. Aalam is an exception. She has received a Full Bright scholarship to study Women’s Studies at University of Georgia. DKG has given her a fellowship and she spoke about her experiences and observations which left us in tears.” |
