The chapter meeting began with a Premier Jewelry fundraiser and packing purses for Purses with a Purpose. Members donated books for classroom libraries and funds for Schools for Liberia. Linda Holcomb presented an inspirational and humorous message. Pen pals were chosen from Ms. Knight's homeroom and Side Cordoba, owner of Taste of Thailand, demonstrated spring rolls. Joan Smith spoke of her experiences in Germany and coming to the United States. Lunch from Taste of Thailand was a tasty treat after the meeting.
Chapter Meeting October 7, 2017
The meeting was held at Jonesboro United Methodist Church. Debbie Bhanojirow provided our Inspiration and Patty Brown, from the Henry County Ferst Foundation, spoke to the group. We chose to make a donation to support books for 2 children and sponsor a table at their literacy luncheon in the spring. Two new members, Janice Thomaston and Maureen Keillor, were initiated. Members enjoyed a fajita lunch from Moe's Southwest Grill.
Chapter Meeting May 6, 2017
The meeting was held on the patio at the Mesquite Mexican Grill in McDonough. Mike Zaren, from the Teacher Retirement System, gave us an update and answered questions. Cindy Thompson provided a very moving inspirational message from "Thank you, Mr. Falker." Members enjoyed lunch after the meeting.
Chapter Meeting December 2, 2017
A remembrance ceremony was conducted for charter member, Mrs. Agnes Fisher Beers. Two new members, Carol Bentley and Shirley Hanner, were initiated. The annual silent auction was held and members enjoyed a traditional holiday meal catered by Dawn Carter.
